It is quite natural and very common for a film artiste to have fans, but Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy is the one politician who has a huge fan base. Usually, politicians have followers but YSR has fans who are very crazy about him. As everybody would say to describe the charm and celebrity status of someone “People will die for him” is true about YSR. People in scores losing their life after his sudden death is a piece of evidence for this fact.

On the occasion of Movie being released about YSR, let us revisit the political journey of Jana Netha as YSR is fondly called by his followers. A four times Member of Legislative Assembly, four times Member of Parliament, two times State minister, one time Leader of Opposition in State Assembly and a two time Chief Minister are just portfolios or designations he held that could describe his political career. YSR was a man of masses, a stubborn leader, an obedient party servant (not a slave) and a Welfare Chief Minister. Whether it is making the first signature on ‘Free power to Farmers’ after taking Oath as Chief Minister or Fee Reimbursement to students or Arogya Sree which helps poor to get a corporate hospital entry for their ailments, people remember YSR for his welfare schemes.

YSR, in his career spanning 25 years, has served in multiple capacities holding many offices right from a president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee twice to  Chief Minister of State and has won all the elections he contested. During mid-summer in 2003, YSR  led a 1400-km long “Paadayaatra” covering all backward areas in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh which won him a massive victory in 2004 elections.

Taking YSR’s journey as a basic plot Mahi V. Raghav made ‘Yatra’ which is ready to hit the theatres on 8th February. The trailers and lyrical videos have evoked a good response. Movietonite wishes ‘Yatra’ team all the success and wishes the biopic of this man of masses to be a mass blockbuster.
